About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.

Fredda, the name of Tommie Pulliam jumped out at me. My brother-in-law, Alton Mercer had a younger brother, Walter. They lived near Creamer and had attended Hebron school, and were going to go to Gustine for their high school education. Walter wanted to come to Comanche for his high school, and he and Tommie Pulliam lived at Mrs. Lizzie Hill’s boarding house and waited tables and washed dishes to pay for their board while they lived in Comanche and attended CHS. Remember, kids didn’t have a car to drive into Comanche every day for school.
