A huge thank you to my friend, Kenneth Evans, for helping me with this 1930s school photo from the Cotton Grove school. I am guessing at some of the spellings so feel free to correct me.

The Cotton Grove school was located about four miles northwest of Comanche and it served area students until 1945, when the old school bell was silenced there once and for all. Students who were still in school in 1945 dispersed to attend either in Sidney or in Comanche.
Wouldn’t you love to go back just once to see how those old schools were taught? I would NOT want to get caught there, but I would love to visit for a little while!
