My name is Ronnie Clifton and I am really excited about this new site called gamefacetexas.com. It is my mission to showcase Central Texas Sports and those who coach and play high school sports in this part of Texas. And we all know that no other state loves its sports quite like Texas.

I had both the honor and privilege of being a Texas high school coach for 29 years. During that time I was an athletic director, a head football coach, a head basketball coach (boys), a head baseball coach, and a head track coach (boys and girls). I also coached girls basketball at the junior high level. I never got tired of coaching and it never bothered me what the sport might be and whether it was played by girls or boys. I just loved the atmosphere and having an opportunity to watch young people compete for a trophy. All I wanted was to be a part of that!

When I arrived on the campus at West Texas State University in 1968 (now West Texas A&M), I had visions of being a sportswriter.  I began taking journalism classes but my desire to coach led me into the those classes designed to prepare me to be a coach. But I never lost my love of writing.

Once I completely retired from education I began to blog for a website here in Comanche called texansunited.com. My sports blog is called Sports Of All Sorts. I enjoyed doing that so much that I began to work with the staff of texansunited to build a website that would feature sports in Central Texas. Having coached many years in this area I have always been impressed with the competitiveness as well as the sportsmanship of both the athletes and the coaches.

So here I am ready to go. Please come along with me and let’s build this site into something which we can all be proud and most of all that can be useful to everyone in this area.

Thanks so much for your support and I hope to see you soon.
