• Aledo’s Dayne Davis Harvard Academic Top 10

36-DAYNE-STATE-5-a-300x2241For three years my social media friends were forced to listen to me brag on my nephews who live in Aledo, Texas and who were fortunate enough to play on three state championship football teams. It was quite a ride and one that anyone would have loved taking.

The oldest three, Devin, Dayne, and Daythan all sport state rings today because of those winning years. Dayne, who happened to be a sophomore when the wins began, actually never played varsity football without picking up a state win. When he is much older with sons of his own, he will realize just what an amazing feat those three rings actually are.

Today, however, I bring Dayne’s name back to Texans United, not because he now plays football for Harvard University but rather because he now plays football at Harvard and still managed to finish his first spring semester  there with a 3.9 academic average. The following was received via email from Harvard Coach Tim Murphy.

“Congratulations to the Crimson Football Academic Top 10 for the Spring Semester. As these and so many others on our team have proven, there is no reason not to reach your potential on both sides of the river…Compete at everything you do!”
