Brennan Vineyards Completes Grape Harvest

Harvest is nearing an end here at Brennan Vineyards. We have two more varieties to pick, Malbec & Cabernet Sauvignon both from our Comanche Vineyard.

This has been a very long harvest season and very plentiful harvest season. That combination translates to long days. We were lucky to have a few days off during Labor Day weekend. Prior to that we had been working everyday for about 6 weeks with a day off.

The late season reds for the most part have been great. Tempranillo seems to be the best variety this year along with Nero d’Avola. The weakest red by far was Mourvedre. Glad we only have a small amount of that this year.

Once we finish harvested this week we will be at full capacity here at the winery. We have even rented tanks and have filled all 5,500 gallons worth of them. There will be a lot of 2012 Texas wines on the market at some point.

I think the 2012 wines will be very good and a lot of them. A good combination to have.
