I know that many of our readers are just now coming into the social media world, but for those of us who spend a tremendous portion of our time on the various sites promoting ourselves, our crafts, and our businesses, I’m wondering if Myspace just might have a chance of winning us back. I must admit that the new design is tempting, but can it bring back the masses the former giant once enjoyed?
Apparently Justin Timberlake, owner of Myspace, not only believes that it can, but is working hard to resurrect the site to which “everyone” once belonged, and I must admit that the newly released video shows that the new Myspace looks amazing…kind of a combo of the best features of all of the other popular sites. And, of course, the music that once drew so many to the site is still just as great as ever.
I just don’t know though. The old Myspace had the advantage of being a forerunner in the social media craze, and the new Myspace will have to scratch and claw its way back into an already saturated market. The thing the site has going for it (in addition to the look) is the fact that there is no loyalty in any of us. The day we can see that Myspace is loaded with great content and would benefit our businesses is the day you’ll find all of us back there front and center, isn’t it?
For now, I’m standing back and watching. I hope you’ll view the video below and then let us know what you think.
