• Comanche Chamber To Host Rep. J.D. Sheffield

    J.D. SHEFFIELDThe Comanche Chamber of Commerce will host a Town Hall on Saturday, March 9 at the Comanche Depot at 3 pm with Representative J. D. Sheffield. Representative J.D. Sheffield is interested in hearing your thoughts and concerns about the many issues facing Texas today. As the economy in Texas continues to grow we must address water needs, infrastructure, rural healthcare, state rights and public schools. Please take this opportunity to share your ideas on how to make Texas an even greater State.

    Dr. J.D. Sheffield grew up on a family cotton farm in Loraine, Texas, a small town about 60 miles west of Abilene, where his parents still live today. After finishing high school in Loraine, Dr. Sheffield attended Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas, where he served as Student Body Vice President. He received an academic scholarship to continue his education at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, where he served as Student Body President and graduated cum laude. He was accepted to medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, now the University of North Texas Health Science Center. For over 17 years Dr. Sheffield has practiced medicine in Gatesville Texas.

    Dr. Sheffield and his wife, Gina, have been married since 1996. Together, they are active members in their community. They are avid supporters of the Boys and Girls Club, for which Dr. Sheffield has served on the Board of Directors. Gina has also chaired the Gatesville Relay for Life committee several years and served on its Board of Directors. She is currently the treasurer of the Gatesville Care Center. The Sheffields attend Coryell Community Church and reside west of Gatesville in the small town of Levita.

    Elected in 2012, Dr. Sheffield is proud to represent the people of House District 5.
