• Comanche City Park Needs You!

Looking for a chance to really do something cool to help Comanche? Well, Christine Perkins just sent me notice of something that the town really, really needs!

The park is such a great asset for the town of Comanche!

As you know, the town of Comanche has a beautiful 49-acre city park along with a Park Enhancement Group that works continuously to make the park better and better for those who visit it. However, several years ago the park’s gorgeous oak trees became diseased and one by one began to die.

In our Texas climate, a park without shade is completely useless, and our city park needs your help.

You, your business, or your organization can underwrite shade in the Comanche City Park! Underwrite 1 TREE for $200, underwrite 2 TREES for $300, and underwrite 3 TREES for $400. You can donate a tree or trees in memory or in honor of a loved one, and you and a friend can, of course, split the cost of a tree.

Obviously, you will be recognized for your donation and have your name on a plaque that will eventually be placed in the park after this fund raiser ends on November 30, 2012.

Please make your check payable to the Park Enhancement Group. You can give these to Nancy Tindol. You can also email Harris498@verizon.net or call 325-356-5657 for more information.

Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.

The P.E.G. group has really stepped up to improve our city park. Hat is off to them. What a great group of young people in Comanche working hard to do such good things. Kyle Riley
