• Comanche Indians Take Area!

Indian fans who came late found themselves sitting with the Indians who wear the red and not the Comanche Indians.

If I had not known better, I would have sworn that I had stepped back into 1970, 1980, or maybe even 1990 last night as the town of Comanche quite literally emptied itself to travel the short 30 miles to Brownwood, Texas to watch the Comanche Indians hand a sound defeat  to the boys from Jim Ned. It’s been many years since I have seen that type of a basketball turnout, and Indian fans completely rocked the house.

I don’t know what I expected…after all, I really did believe that we had a good chance against those Indians who wear the red…but I must admit that I was nervous…a little bit anyway. However, Thedford got the tip, and I could tell from that moment on that Comanche had come to play ball. Furthermore, the Indians (who wear the black and gold…with a lot of white mixed in) had come to win!

With 3:32 to go in the 3rd quarter, Comanche was on top by a score of 42-19 and although Jim Ned did have spurts when it was able to narrow the gap by quite a bit, those times were short lived, and it was the Comanche Indians all the way when the final buzzer sounded out a tremendous 60-41 win for Coach Grant Freeman and his Comanche Indians!

From the first rattle out of the box, the Indians were on D, and not a single player let up until the final buzzer sounded.

Don't be fooled by the score. It was a hard fought battle!

Gore fires from the outside. The beauty of this team is that they will bring it to you from anywhere on the court.

All you have to do is look at Nance and Mankin to see exactly how hard the Indians fought for the right to be a regional contender.
