COMANCHE, TEXAS TRAIN DEPOTFrom Christine Perkins

Nominations are now being accepted for the Comanche Chamber of Commerce’s Community Service Awards. If you would like to see someone’s merits recognized or their efforts applauded, you are encouraged to submit a nomination.

The awards will be made at the annual banquet on Tuesday, April 9th at the Comanche High School Commons.

Categories this year are MAN OF THE YEAR, WOMAN OF THE YEAR, ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR, BUSINESS OF THE YEAR, AGRICULTURAL FAMILY AND CORNERSTONE AWARD (nominee for cornerstone must me 62 years and older.)

All except the Cornerstone Award should be based on contributions and efforts during the 2012 year. The Cornerstone Award is based on a person’s lifetime of service to the community. Awards will be given in each of the four categories if qualified nominations are received by March 15, 2013.

Nominations must be in writing and include why you feel they should receive the award including efforts, involvement and activities benefitting our community.  Nominees will be considered by individual anonymous judges and evaluated on their personal involvement in the community, their personal and family life, as well as their character, competence and integrity.

You do not have to be a chamber member to make a nomination, nor do the nominees have to be chamber members.  To make a nomination, please mail to P.O. Box 65, Comanche, Texas 76442 or come by the Comanche Chamber of Commerce located in the Historic Comanche Depot at 304 South Austin Street no later than March 15th at 5:00 pm.
