Death Of Obediah Kelley In Bandera, Texas 1908

I believe the following to be from a Comanche Chief in 1908.

Death of O.H. Kelley

The best I can figure out, this O.H. Kelley is the namesake of his father, the man in this article.

Information has been received that Obediah Kelly who went from this county [Comanche] a few years ago to Bandera County in the southwestern part of the state on account of bad health, died there recently of consumption. Mr. Kelley was an old settler of Comanche County and one of its foremost citizens.

The Chief is grieved to learn of the death for he was always, even up to the day off his departure from this world, a firm friend of this paper and its policies for the improvement of social, moral, and political conditions.

About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
