Every now and then I amaze myself! While, I’m not big on a lot of the heavy room fresheners that come in aerosol sprays, I do really like the more subtle fabric fresheners or linen sprays that I often spray on my curtains, couches, etc. These are, however, pretty pricey.
Today, I decided to experiment with a DIY version and so far, I think I am pretty pleased with my creation, AND the cost was pennies compared to what I have been buying!
2 Tablespoons Baking Soda
1/8-1/4 Cup Liquid Fabric Softener (I happened to have Snuggle and used 1/8 cup.)
1. Using a funnel, add your baking soda to a spray bottle. I used a 16.9 ounce bottle because that is what I had.
2. Add your fabric softener the same way.
3. Fill bottle with hot water, stopping to shake a couple of times as it fills.
I’ve been using this just like I would use what I normally buy, and I really like the fresh scent. Of course, you can use any type of fabric softener that you prefer and adjust the amount to suit yourself. Just be careful not to use too much softener, I would assume.
