Stop 6 – Dublin Bottling Works Dublin, Texas

221 South Patrick Street
Dublin, Texas

Other than the fact that the name Dublin Dr Pepper is no more, not much has changed. Dublin Bottling Works is still the oldest bottling plant in Texas, and the folks there still give a great tour.

So what will you find here besides cool retro atmosphere and smiling faces?

  1. Old Doc’s Soda Shop serves great fountain drinks, floats, etc. The soda jerks also serve sandwiches that you can eat inside or use as picnic fixings.
  2. The antique bottling tour is always fun, and children love it! ($5.00 adults $4.00 children)
  3. Be sure to taste a sample of the Original Dublin Cake. If you love it as we do, the mix is there for purchase.
  4. If your children are old enough to remember Dublin Dr Pepper, they might enjoy visiting the new W.P. Kloster Annex. (price included in bottling tour)

Of course, you can always get your food to go here and head over to W.M. Wright’s Historical Park where you can have a picnic and the kids can run off some energy!

About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for and marketing small-town Texas.
