If you are planning a trip to Dublin, Texas, a visit to the Dublin Historical Museum is a must and believe it or not, you will find the museum open from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. 363 days a year.

This amazing collection raises the bar on small town museums. Its incredible collection of memorabilia is displayed in an unusual, user-friendly series of venues which remove the “do not touch” feel of many collections.

What you will find upon entering the museum are friendly staff and a wealth of artifacts and information about days gone by and the people who lived them, days that, at least by our standards today, were long and hard, and yet simply made up the normal life of those who came before us. Visitors feel at home in the museum because they are able to step into the subject area.

The way we lived, the way we worshipped, the way we served – these are just a few of the venues which allow visitors to turn back the pages to the way things used to be. The outstanding Veterans Room is among the most popular of the venues. Many a visitor has spent hours immersed in the history of the men and women who served in the military, including the fascinating story of Col. Davis, Dublin’s own Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.

Be sure to make time to visit. You will be amazed at the treasures this small-town Texas museum has to offer!

Came to visit your museum 8/30/2014 understood the hours were from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
Even called the day before to make sure you would be open. arrived at 3:50 pm you were closed.
Drove out of our way just to visit the museum we were very disappointed.

Hmmm…Linda, no one has notified texansunited.com of new hours, but I will contact Karen Wright about this. That museum usually is one of the best about being open. I am so sorry this happened to you!
