One of the most colorful stories of Dublin’s rich past is that of the Dublin Rodeo. This event attracted literally thousands of people to Dublin each year because of the big name cowboys and cowgirls who competed here, as well as the outstanding rodeo stock from the Lightning C Ranch at Edna Hill.

Dublin was the last stop just ahead of the granddaddy of all rodeos at Madison Square Garden. Competitors were eager to come to the Dublin Rodeo to check out the stock and the competition before they all loaded up on the rodeo train to head to The Big Apple.

Rodeo owners Everett Colborn and famed singing cowboy Gene Autry put Dublin on the map with the annual rodeo.

The Rodeo Heritage Museum tells the story of those good old Dublin Rodeo days, as well as showcasing more contemporary rodeo stars.

It’s a “must” on a list of stops for any rodeo fan.
