It’s going to be a party in Dublin….a FIESTA to be exact and we are all invited!
That’s right. The Dublin Chamber of Commerce would like to extend an invitation to everyone to attend the Fall Fiesta this Saturday, September 21, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Wright Park and Pavilion. The party offers a great chance for people to get acquainted with Hispanic businesses in the community and experience a bit of the Hispanic culture as well. according to Juanita Torres, chamber board member and chairman of the event.
Organized by Chino Rodriguez and designed to set the mood for the fiesta will be the Calvagatas (Hispanic Riding Club) who will be riding into town to kick off the celebration escorted by Dublin’s Police Chief, Shawn Fullagar.
One of the highlights of the evening will be an authentic Hispanic costume contest, which will be broken into four age divisions.
1. Infants up to age 6
2. Ages 7-12
3. Ages 13-20
4. Ages 21-Golden Oldie :
Costume contest winners will receive Dublin Dollar Prizes.
Other entertainment for the evening includes a Mariachi band (sponsored by the Dublin EDC) and a folklore dance group. Adolfo Mendoza and Jose Sifuentes will be co-hosting the event along with Miss Dublin 2013, Christian Rodriguez.
Of course, there will be great food to go along with great fun so bring a lawn chair or lay a quilt on the ground and prepare yourself for a Saturday night Texas celebration.
