• Erath County Genealogical Society Work Day

    At the Library

This is our regular work day meeting – July 21 – at 2 p.m. at the Dublin Public Library. Since Sandra has more help than usual and did not need us, we have planned a work day where we can help each other!

We all have an occasional “brick wall” and frustrations with particular web-sites. We all have
different strengths and experiences! Please take time to jot down a few of your frustrations – there will
probably be others having the same problem and some one there who can tell us what to do.
(I have two brick-walls and am making a list of frustrations using Genealogy Bank and Ancestry.com)

The plan is to conduct a short business meeting and appoint committees as the By-Law requires; take
a tour of the depository to see the new items and organization; have all of the data bases up ready
for a demonstration, if needed; then we can all sit down around a table and discuss items that
we are having a problem solving.

Dianne O’Keefe has sent me scans of a wonderful old collection of photographs that she found in the
old Edmonds house – I had not seen any of them before. We need to take a look and see if we
can identify any of the ones she has not identified.

I am happy to tell you we have made a new high in dues paying members –40. If some of the others
would like to send in your dues to receive your newsletter – the State Historical Society describes
what what we are doing as a journal. Our little newsletter has just grown and grown.

The dues are $15.00 per year. They may be sent to the Dublin Public Library – 206 West Blackjack,
Dublin Texas 76446. It still not too late to have the April letter sent to you!

    See you on the 21st.

    About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
