• Genealogy Texas Style As Graves Are Identified

I’ve told you before that people all over the country owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Comanche County Genealogy Society, but this past week when I caught up with Delma Walters pouring over records, I remembered that it was time I told you again.

Certain members of this group have taken it upon themselves to identify every grave in every cemetery in Comanche County. They photograph the stones, find death certificates when it is at all possible, make spread sheets, and eventually add the information to FindAGrave.com, making it possible for people all over the world to have access to family information and photos.

Obviously, the project is a mountain of work. According to Walters, she has been working on the Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery (Beattie area) for over a year and almost has it complete. What a coup!

    About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
