    Granny's Chocolate Cake

    Grandma’s Chocolate Cake

This was one of those weeks when I just did not have time to cook. Surely we had a meal or two, but for the life of me I can’t remember a one of them…so I’m wondering just what we did manage to eat, come to think of it!

Thank goodness my dear young friend, Kristen Stewart, happened to bake her grandmother’s chocolate cake, and she agreed that I could share it with you.

There’s nothing to it…not even any frosting…and yet it is the cake that her grandchildren remember and LOVE. We hope you will too. Oh, and Kristen assures me that this cake needs no frosting because it “always comes out with a thin, gooey layer on top!” And since it begins with a cake mix, I’m thinking it will work for even those busy schedules.

    Enjoy!

    Ingredients

    1 Yellow Cake Mix
1 Small Box Instant Chocolate Pudding
    1/2 Cup Sugar
    3/4 Cup Water
    3/4 Cup Oil
    4 Eggs
    8 Ounces Sour Cream
    1 Cup Chocolate Chips

    Preparation

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix all ingredients together then stir in chocolate chips.

Bake for 45 minutes or until sides pull away from pan. Time varies by pan type.
