Harvest Has Come To Brennan Vineyards!

Harvest is among us here at Brennan Vineyards!

We officially started picking grapes last Thursday (7/19/12). The first grapes we harvested were a new block of Viognier from our Newburg Vineyard. We sold these to Lost Oak Winery in Burleson.

We also harvested Chardonnay from Bill Blue’s vineyard also in Newburg. We are going to make a Chardonnay this year for e first time at Brennan Vineyards.

I am actually in the process of starting fermentation as I write this. I also tested all the other white grapes we have plus some red ones this morning. Based on the numbers we will harvest again on Wednesday.

We will get two block of Viognier that we are using and then on Thursday we will harvest some Semillon that we are selling to a few wineries. It is constantly going to be busy here for weeks to come.

Got to get back to the Chardonnay.
