• How Can I Save Our Family Memories? DIY

If you are like the rest of us (and I know you are), somewhere in your house there is a closet, trunk, or drawer that holds the remnants of days gone by, right? Things that will never be used again but can never be thrown away….an old little league baseball jersey, a cheerleader emblem, an old dance costume, or a piece of a blankie that could comfort a crying toddler when nothing else could.

Recently, my friend, Nancy Holland, showed me the quilts she had made for her girls, and I was completely blown away by them. Below are photos of them. Of course, Nancy did these herself so I’ve listed this article as a DIY. I’d have to have a LOT  of help! :)

This is Shawna's quilt. You will find parts of baseball shirts, basketball, and cheerleading logos on it.

This is Staci's quilt. I love the gloves from her color guard uniform, and I probably would not have thought to use them on the quilt!

This is one of the most clever “memory savers” that I have ever seen and, of course, the memories saved can be of mom, dad, grandma, etc.

    About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
