James Bonner

Don’t you just love it when you find a really cool tidbit in your family research? Well, if you are related to Jim Carmine of long ago Comanche, Texas, you will enjoy this one!

Apparently Jim was fond of “greasing” his hair with tallow…and then, one night he went to a dance.

Can you guess the rest of the story?

Yep, old Jim found himself a little too close to one of the wall candles and poof! His hair went up in flames!

According to Clayton Carnes and Jim Bonner, the hair blazed all the way to the ceiling but luckily, it was quickly extinguished and no one was hurt…not even tallow hair Jim!  :)
