I’m very thankful for a grandmother who enthralled us with what we could not see, who created invisible pictures in the sky and then dared us to imagine them with her, a grandmother who made us believe that anything is possible, even finding a magical treasure just around the next curve in the road.
Today, I asked the Cotten sisters what they see around the corner of their own roads. Their answers just might surprise you.
Kyli Cotten- What I want to be around the corner and what is around the corner are most likely two completely different things. I want to do a semester abroad or in DC. I want to graduate from college with good enough grades to go on to law school. I want to do a lot of things, but I’m slowly learning that what God wants always trumps what I want.
So, I’d say He has good things just around the corner for me although I probably have no idea what they are yet.
Ali Cotten: Being alone can make your soul get lost in so many memories and thoughts. When you think about everything that has happened in your lifetime, it brings you into so many mixed emotions: being happy, or thinking about being in that miserable depression, or just living without any emotion and not having a care in the world. It makes you think deeply about time and where your decisions have led you in life.
Recently I have figured out that you only have an average of 70 years to live life on this earth. When you die, you are either going to two places: straight down to hell or rise high worshiping the Almighty God in heaven.
You have an average of 70 years or more to decide which adventure you are wanting to take, whether it’s just living your life as you please or living for God and striving to learn about his work and telling people about his endless love for you.
Like I said I have just recently looked at life as a totally different way of living, and it’s your choice to choose how you want to live your lifetime here on Earth. But just know one thing, all you need to have in life is happiness. Happiness makes a huge difference in your life. When you aren’t happy, you are just living.
