Bottling week has come and gone this year at Brennan Vineyards. We bottled 1,837 cases of red wine in two days last week. 1,201 cases on Thursday and 636 cases on Friday. We also bottled two of our white wines inLubbocklast Thursday as well, about 650 cases of each wine (2011 Viognier & 2011 Lily).
We still have two more wines to bottle up in Lubbock, the 2011 Three White Chicks and 2011 Comanche Rose. The red wines we bottled last week here in Comanche were the2010 Austin St.Red (658 cases), 2010 Dark Horse (402 cases), 2009 Portejas (141 cases) & 2010BuffaloRoam (636 cases).
The Dark Horse is a new Italian wine for Brennan Vineyards. It should be available in the tasting room here in Comanche in the next few weeks. The other 3 red wines will not be released until we run out of the current vintages of each wine. Now that we are finished bottling, I need to find a place for all this wine. I will be spending the next few days down in our cellar coming up with a game plan for all of our case good storage. Also now that bottling is over we will turn our attention to the completion of 4.0 Cellars and to our three vineyards.
Rumor has it that we have bud break in one of the Newburg vineyards. That is very bad news, we still have about 7 weeks of possible spring freezes before we can relax. There is always something going on around here.
