You know how they say that a dog is a man’s best friend? Well, this girl is the epitome of man’s best friend. She’s got a sad, sad story to tell, but you would never know it by the look on her face, eh?
Her story goes a little something like this. John, the head animal control officer here in Comanche, was called to a home. You see, the home’s only human inhabitant had passed away. However, his dogs remained laying by his side inhibiting the work of the EMS. This is the ultimate display of loyalty… and the ultimate heartache.
Sky laid by his side the longest. I’m told it took much coaxing to get her to come along. Poor thing very obviously loved her owner.
Upon their arrival at the shelter, their confusion, uncertainty, and fear was obvious. This is not the life they are used to. But, Sky was by far the most outgoing.
She is dog friendly and cat friendly. She lived with other dogs, as well as with two cats. She’s been around the shelter kitty, and doesn’t act like that’s out of the ordinary. And, she’s house trained (used to a doggy door), which is always an added bonus with any pet!
In the three photos below, I’m told the third one shows her personality quite a lot. If she thinks she’s being ignored, or she wants your undivided attention, she’ll howl and look at you! Too cute! What a great communicator, eh?
So, folks… how about giving this girl (and possibly her sister along with her?) a new lease on life. She needs someone to love. She needs someone to give her loyalty to again. Couldn’t that be you? Come out and meet her.
And, as always, if you just aren’t in the market for a new dog, maybe you know someone who is? Maybe you can pass this puppy bio along to a friend? Share it on Facebook or Twitter? Let’s make this a success story!
Other ways to help: monetary donations are always welcome.
