• Mercer Gap To Host Cemetery Working

Our friend here on Texans United, James Boldebuck, recently sent me a reminder that the Mercer Gap Cemetery Association annual meeting and work day is quickly approaching. The meeting will be held on the last Saturday in April and if you have ties to the cemetery or just want to come visit, bring a dish for the pot luck luncheon and come on down!

“The History of Comanche County can be found in these type gatherings. Sadly we are loosing people every year who are taking a wealth of knowledge with them that we should be saving.”

“Some of the families represented are Williford, Mckinzie, Tupin, Boldebuck, Carlisle, Stevens, Gore, Williams, Murphy, and Huggins, just to name a few.”

I’m hoping to be there this year representing Texansunited.com. Come join me!

    About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
