• M&M Bars Cookie Bars

This is the first time I have made this version of the recipe. It begins from a mix, and I didn’t think I was really crazy about that. I made them on a Thursday, sealed them in a container, and didn’t serve until Sunday. I was AMAZED at how much better they were after sitting that long!

I didn’t even dirty the mixer to make these, just stirred up by hand. If you are really slow, these will take you five minutes to make. Of course, I used Aunt Vesta’s 9 x 13 pan to bake them.

    M&M Cookie Bars

    1 Yellow Cake Mix
    1 Small Instant Vanilla Pudding
    1/4 Cup Water
    3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
    2 Eggs
    1 Cup M&Ms

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    1. Mix cake mix, pudding mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs just until combined.

    2. Stir in M&Ms.

    3. Pour batter into a buttered and floured 9 x 13 inch baking dish.

    4. Bake for about 25 minutes or until edges begin to look slightly crisp and pull away from sides. Middle may not be quite set.

    5. Slice into bars and serve.

The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
