In case you haven’t quite “gotten there” yet, you have to make yourself learn to think in terms of dollars and cents when it comes to your town. There are those in every Texas town who work long, hard hours trying to entice tourists to visit their towns for the express reason of dropping much needed dollars into the towns’ various coffers.
This week it is the town of Comanche, Texas who wins the tourism prize for hosting over 350 participants in the TMRA State Rally who parked their bikes in the city park. In addition to all types of entertainment, the group hosted a Silent Auction with all proceeds going to the Comanche Volunteer Fire Department.
According to executive director of the Comanche Chamber of Commerce, Christine Perkins, “Early estimates figure that participants had a direct investment of over $100,000 in Comanche. Long term investments figures will show a indirect investment of well over $700,000 in Comanche.”
Good job, Comanche!
