News From The Vineyard

One of these days it is going to slow down around here. It has been a very busy last few days!

Last week I was in San Marcos for the annual TWGGA conference. It was nice to get to see a lot of my colleagues and catch up with them. The conference had a lot of special topic seminars to attend and a trade show. Pat bought a new pump for us to use. We had a great wine dinner that was at Duchman Winery in Driftwood. Great wine and great food.

When I got back to the winery this morning my office (the lab) was full of boxes with new labels in them. That only means one thing. We are very close to bottling. This year’s labels have a QR code on the back of them. If your smartphone has a QR code reader you will have to scan it and see where it takes you.

Also this morning, we had are bottles arrive for bottling. We had over 25,000 bottles arrive this morning, and that is only for our red wines. The white wines are being bottled in Lubbock in a few weeks.

This week in the winery we will actually we will make all the last minute additions to the wines and get them filtered one more time and then they will be ready to bottle and for you to enjoy.
