Ormsby Tells Of 1951 State Win

It’s no secret in Comanche, Texas. We’ve been bragging on that 1951 Maiden state championship for over half a century, and crazy as it sounds, the story never grows stale.

This past month, Texansunited.com did a video interview with Comanche’s Woody Ormsby that can be viewed at the Comanche County Historical Museum. Today we bring you just a bit of that interview that we tagged by asking Woody a question about that 1951 game, the game that was the beginning of what was to be a tradition in the Ormsby household!

About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
