• The People Who Change Our Lives

Whether you are in Dublin, Comanche, Stephenville, or anywhere in the world, there are people who have made an impact on your life and mine. When Connie Penny sent me the following, known as the Charles Schulz Philosophy, I decided to pass along to you just in case you are still trying to decide on your New Year’s resolutions. I think you will find that it applies.

Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

Name the last five winners of the Miss America Pageant.

Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

Don’t feel badly if you don’t know all of the answers. Here at Texansunited.com, we don’t know them either because today’s headlines fade quickly, don’t they? However, you might look at the list of questions below. If you are like us, you will know 100% of the answers to these questions.

List those teachers who aided your journey through school.

Name the friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

Name the people who have taught you something worthwhile.

Think of those people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

Think of the people with whom you enjoy spending time.

Come to think of it, the people who make a difference in our lives are not usually the rich and famous, are they?  Two of the people who made an impact on my life that is still felt everyday are pictured on this page.

Patsy and William Boyd were both overworked and underpaid teachers who left this world way too soon. The impact they made on thousands of students, however, will be felt for a very long time to come.  It’s something to think about, isn’t it?

    About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
