I Remember Store Bought Bread

This memory came to me from my dear friend James Wyatt, and it reminded me that my mom also shared with me how excited she was as a child when she would visit some of her family who actually had store bought bread. It sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

Christmas at the Wyatt house was a very special time for me. The city kinfolk would all come home and bring store bought bread. Jack Tunnell called it wasp nest, but I sure did like it.

All we ever had was homemade biscuits and a little cornbread with home churned butter. Years later, I came to the place where I agreed with Jack.-James Wyatt, Sipe Springs,Texas
