• Silver Can Food Drive In Full Swing!

The following just in from Comanche Mayor Ronnie Clifton.

RONNIE CLIFTONThe Silver Can Food Drive for the Salvation Army Food Bank in Comanche is in full swing. Students from Comanche FFA will distribute silver cans on all campuses of Comanche ISD. This is the third year for the drive. In the last two years, more than $2000 has been collected by students and staff from the district. There is a traveling trophy that goes to the campus with the largest donation. So far the trophy has not traveled because it has remained at Comanche Elementary.

This year the students will expand beyond the classrooms and will place cans in various businesses in the community. This is in conjunction with the Ag Texas effort to eliminate hunger in our state.

Comanche Electric Cooperative has also become a contributing partner in this effort. On October 29 Comanche Electric will be serving free hamburgers and hot dogs in their parking lot. The burgers and hot dogs will be donated by the Coop and their only request is that anyone in attendance consider making a donation toward this effort by Ag Texas and Comanche FFA.

Remember 18 cents will buy one can of food, so no donation is too small to make a difference.
