Sorrells Farms Hosts Congressman Mike Conaway

You just never know what you’ll find when you visit Sorrells Farms in Comanche. Of course, you know that the Sorrells Farms retail store is the first place to look when it comes to decorating your home and yard for Christmas. However, you may not think of Sorrells as the site of a congressional visit…well, at least the site of one congressman’s visit, that is!

Yes, it was Congressman Mike Conaway who recently toured the Sorrells’ pecan orchards and facilities, and here at United, we were privileged to be asked to tag along. The following photos tell the story of the Congressman’s visit.

It wasn't long before the entire family joined in the conversation as they looked over the table spread with Sorrells pecans and goodies.

Just as in Biblical times (with a modern twist) this machine separates the wheat, or in this case, the nuts from the chaff.

And after a great afternoon of touring, the Congressman left with a much better understanding of just what it takes to produce those wonderful Sorrells Farms pecans.
