It’s true. Even when we don’t want to admit it, you know that we Texans are just pretty full of ourselves when it comes to bragging on our state. It’s just a Texas thing…but WHY?
The answer’s actually pretty simple.
The state of Texas has 254 counties, the largest of which is Brewster (6,169 square miles). Now that might now mean a whole lot to you, but think about this:
The state of Connecticut consists of 5,544 square miles. The state of Delaware contains 2,489 square miles, and that baby state of Rhode Island boasts of 1,545 square miles.
You got it…those STATES will fit into some of our COUNTIES, and that gives us bragging rights, doesn’t it?
