The timing could not have been better for me to find the newspaper article because I was in the process of finishing a conversation with a skeptic about the fact that Texans United believes that the best marketing stragegies involve intertown marketing. In other words, we market Comanche to Dublin and Dublin to Hamilton and Hamilton to Glen Rose, etc. There are all kinds of reasons for our small Texas towns to utilize each other and to promote shopping, etc. with each other as well, and that is exactly what we do here at United.
Apparently on a larger scale, this is exactly the focus of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism who uses the slogan “Texas…It’s A Whole Other Country” to promote Texas as a travel destination to those who live outside the state.
Sooo…needless to say, I stood a little taller when I explained that if it was a strategy for the great state of Texas, it was definitely good enough for Texansunited.com and small-town Texas. We’d love to market your town as well!
