• We Told You So, But Even We Were Amazed!

Okay, we told you recently that EVERYONE goes to Frontier Tire & Service for tires, but we must admit that even we here at Texansunited.com were surprised (make that amazed) when a camel named Cesar rolled onto the FT lot yesterday. We were even more amazed to see Cesar riding in a stock trailer!

It seems that Cesar and his owner live in Abilene, Texas, and Cesar travels around the state (yes, in a stock trailer) offering rides to children as well as anyone else who might want the thrill of riding a camel.

Unfortunately, one of the trailer tires went flat just outside of Comanche. Charlie Burks in true Texas fashion stopped to help and then escorted both owner and camel to Frontier Tire where Blandon and the gang fixed them up and Mary Ann thought to snap photos and call Texans United!

    About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.

Met a camel being towed in an open trailer when I was headed toward Comanche from Austin a few weeks ago. Now I know that I wasn’t imagining it. Quite a funny sight!

    2. Jane Zimmerman says:

Photo of Cesar and his owner made the front page of metro section of Austin American-Statesman this a.m. Article says that Cesar is a 14-year-old bartrian camel. Owner , Edwin Snell, recently moved to Austin.
