• U.S. Congressman Mike Conaway Visits Comanche, Texas

Comanche, Texas was the first stop on Congressman Mike Conaway’s tour through the state as he visits with Texans about their needs and the recent circus in DC which we all watched unfold on television.

Comanche County citizens were free to ask questions, and of course we were all interested in the budget and why Congress refuses to control Washington spending.

According to the Congressman, the bill just passed did the following:

    1. Cut spending

    2. Put in hard caps for government growth (starting in 2014

    3. Advanced the case of the Balanced Budget Amendment

(Shown with his mom and wife Suzanne)

Conaway went on to say that we have basically five months to put together a grass-roots movement to demand this amendment. Of course here at Texansunited.com, we’d like to see Congress get things under control itself, but apparently this isn’t to be.

We do, however, appreciate Mike Conaway for talking to us and the Chamber and EDC for making the meeting possible. http://conaway.house.gov
