Update From Brennan Vineyards, Comanche

Once again here in Comanche, Texas, our harvest is over for the year; the wines are finished fermenting, and now the winemaking process has begun!

The red wines from 2011 are ready to go in barrels as soon as we begin taking out the 2010 reds. The 2011 whites still have many more steps in order to get from grapes, to wine, and to bottle. We are about half-way through the process.

Obviously, the 2011 harvest was a very tough growing season due to the drought conditions; however, although our quantity was way down this year, our quality is way up.

I am often asked to compare our red and white wines and simply put, the reds have the darkest color and rich fruit flavors, and the whites are very aromatic.

The vineyard was very happy to see the recent rain, but we are still hoping for more rain showers before the end of the year….Todd Webster
