• We Invited; Gun Factory Said Yes!

BRECKA few weeks ago told you that Texas had invited gun makers to join us here in Texas. Well, it seems that someone has taken us up on the invitation. Colt Competition, an Oregon company that makes rifles for Colt’s Manufacturing Company, will be opening a factory in Breckenridge, Texas in the near future.

Of course, we have known for a while that if Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed the stiffer gun control law presented him, Colt would have no choice but to make a move, and it looks like Texas is the big winner of yet another new industry. crp18_bnr_prod

A call to the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce did not provide me with any info as to how many jobs and people the move will bring the town because no one has that answer just yet. I do know personally that football opponents of the Big Green are wondering…well you know what they are wondering…LOL

Here at Texansunited.com we salute the town of Breck and the movers and shakers who were on the ball and drew this industry to their town. Good for them!!

    About Fredda Jones

Fredda Davis Jones was raised “in the country” in Comanche County and learned very early that creativity and innovation are traits that can flourish even in small-town Texas and that with enough effort, indeed nothing is impossible, including being married to the same man for over 40 years! Rickey and Fredda have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and a crazy life that includes sitting in the bleachers several times a week. The rest of her time is spent creating great content for texansunited.com and marketing small-town Texas.
