Keeping Busy- Scholarships, Applications and More

January has been one of the busiest months of the school year so far. Between drill team competition preparations, college and scholarship applications, graduation planning and the usual school buzz I have kept my hands occupied.

The 21st I went to Brock to their UIL Invitational and I got 3rd place in Social Studies. Not to mention, a lot of otherDublin students placed in Accounting, Spelling, Current Events, Ready Writing and Literary Criticism among other categories. Regionals will be at the end of March, and I am gearing up for the challenge.

The Dandi-Lions and I performed at the Dublin Lions vs. San Saba basketball game’s half time the 27th. We also held our tamale dinner fundraiser, which was a total success. Thank you to those of you who came and supported us.

A special shout-out to the moms who helped cook and run the dinner. Our next and final performance before competition will be February 14th, where we will be performing our Jazz routine also during the Varsity boys’ halftime. Come and support your Dandi-Lions Drill Team and Lady Lions and Lions!

In addition, I have been busy filling out college and scholarships applications. Word of advice, it is never too early to begin! When I was a junior last year I kept thinking that it was definitely too early to start the applying process, but now I wished I hadn’t waited so long.

It is undeniably stressing trying to keep up with all the different deadlines and criteria. However, because I have been there and done that, I have come up with a couple great scholarships websites that have proven to be noteworthy.

Below are some websites that are free and worth checking out for scholarships along with; which is where you can find just about every college application in Texas. Keep in mind that there are thousands, if not millions of scholarships out there! Therefore, don’t just stop searching here for opportunities. If I find any more scholarships websites or links, I will let you all know.

Some Scholarship Websites-
