Visitors to the little town of Dublin, Texas will not want to miss the narrated antique bottling tour of Dublin Bottling Works, the world’s first Dr Pepper bottling plant where a new day has dawned, shining on what Dublin has dubbed The New Kids.
Basking in brilliant reds, oranges, purples and yellows, The New Kids are the modern “retro” drinks that replace Dublin Dr Pepper, the plant’s signature beverage for 121 years.
The plant no longer produces Dr Pepper and has changed its name back to what its founder Sam Prim dubbed it in 1891, Dublin Bottling Works. And where Dublin Dr Pepper proudly once stood, only its colorful history remains along with the plant’s claim to the title of the world’s first Dr Pepper bottler.
In its place stand The New Kids who are truly the New Kids On The Block, and Dublin Bottling Works is excited to be a brand new parent once again!
The plant is open seven days a week for historic tours, and Old Doc’s Soda Shop offers both dining and shopping; however, if you are planning a summer trip through Dublin you might want to adjust your calendars so that you can be in Dublin on the second Saturday in June when Dublin Bottling Works throws itself a huge birthday party!
There is something to do for everyone, and old and young alike seem to have a great time each year.
